Kayleigh has lived her whole life trying to make a mind of her own. Even with being raised in a city where education is flawed and ideal are narrow minded she managed to make it out with a mission. She wanted to try and heal the people around her and the place she lived in. So she decided Chicago was the best opportunity for a education and to reach out a helping hand. Patrick on the other hand didn't worry much about others, always wrapped up in his life and what effected him only. It isn't until the two meet do they see they they need a little bit of each other to find some balance in their life. Together they learn through each other what matters most in life. It's not always doing what's best for yourselves or even others, but this concept of both. An "us" if you will. Only through love will they see that what they're looking for is right in front of them.
