I am the amulet maker.

Maverick knows from experience you can never out smart the maker, and it is a choice that he will forever regret. 
One time trying to run away, and he's locked in a room with no windows, and no doors, and no memory of ever entering the room. The only light is from the ceiling, something that is fifteen feet high. 
He knows he will die there unless he says yes to the one thing he has been avoiding his whole life.
