A young boy, Edwin Myers, enlists in the US Army in 1941, during the second World War. He's badly injured in the battle of Crete, which lands him in the field hospital. His weakened eyes seem to jolt back to life once they landed on Eleanor Francis, the voluntary nurse's aid. Eleanor quickly becomes a close friend, so she decides to gift Edwin with a journal, since she always had a love for writing. He begins writing an entry in his journal everyday. Edwin is sent back to the battlefields once he's healed, and, of course, his entries never cease. || A true story based off of my own fathers life || **PLEASE READ THE TW BEFORE READING THE ACTUAL BOOK** **UNEDITED**

Hi! This is my first full-length fanfic! I'm so excited! Of course, this is a George Luz fic (based solely on Rick Gomez's portrayal of the character) because I'm a Luz girl for life. I'm not too focused on keeping things super historically accurate, so there will be variations in order for me to take creative liberties. Hope you love it! Eleanor "Nora" Whitman is a journalist for Life magazine. She's taken on the assignment of writing a feature piece on the effectiveness of paratroopers in the war. In an effort to capture the full scope of their experiences, she immerses herself in the training and combat of the Army paratroopers, attaching to Easy company for the length of the war.
