I'm not really sure how to explain this. I remember viewing a comment on a story I was reading on here about two or so years ago and I haven't forgotten it, and just recently a story idea came from it. I don't know who the specific user was, or which book it was, not even the exact words of the comment, but I remember it saying something along the lines of, '. . . last year in school where one of my teachers gave us all notebooks and told us to use them throughout the year to keep track of things. I ended up using the journal quite often and confided in it a lot, never worrying much about what I wrote because I figured no one was ever going to be reading it. But then at the end of the year the teacher asked all of us to turn in our journals. Now I'm pretty sure he's read all about how I struggled with my mental health and my sexuality. . . .' There's more to that I remember but I'm not sure how accurately I remember it so I won't include that. Anyway, my idea has been about this maybe happening in a short story of a reader who, at the beginning of a new school year in 1-A, is assigned a journal along with the rest of the class and does sort of the same thing: writing personal entries and using it as a vent/coping method. But then, at some point, they are asked to turn them in for a sort of progress check as the teachers had intended for these to be academic. Reader realizes this a bit too late and has to turn in the notebook, and a lot of things are revealed to the teachers/Pros that weren't really supposed to be found by anyone. This results in some character growth and sort of an 'angst--recovery--healthy/happy conclusion' plot. I realize how probably overused this is and that it's definitely already been done but I figured I could probably try my own version. (This is also maybe going to be Dad Might so there's that too I guess-) Special thanks to @piworld for editing and, in a way, co-writing. Started: February 6, 2020 Current Status: Ongoing
