"Saying it out loud felt like both a blessing and a curse. On one hand, it felt like a weight he didn't know he'd been carrying had been lifted from him. On the other hand, saying it out loud made it real. And 'real' didn't feel as good as it should have." Katsuki had always been sure of one thing; he was going to become the number one hero. His ambitions never changed as the years went by. Other things, however, seemed to twist and turn out of his control. When Katsuki's health begins getting in the way of his hero training, he begins to lose hope. How can he become number one if he can't even control his own body? I do not own "My Hero Academia" or any of its characters. This is purely fan fiction.

Katsuki Bakugou was almost completely deaf. He could barely hear his own explosions anymore, but that didn't stop him from trying to become a pro hero. He couldn't wait to prove everyone wrong when they said he couldn't be a hero because of his hearing loss. He manages to pass the UA entrance exams and gets accepted, along with his childhood friend, Midoriya. They're placed in class 1-A with the luck that the home room teacher actually knows asl. The transition from middle school to high school isn't the smoothest. Navigating through high school and the pro hero world is hard for someone with all five senses, let alone someone who couldn't hear. Katsuki stumbles... a lot. When Midoriya catches him staring at the duel haired boy in their class during training, he's quick to tease him for it. They sign quickly, Katsuki's movements for aggressive than normal. They gain the attention of Shoto Todoroki, who in turn, stares back. It was obvious that they were signing about him, but he had no clue what they were saying. Katsuki catches on to the staring and signs at him, even though he can't understand. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Katsuki turns to the taller boy, clearly in a pissed off mood. "Yes, I am signing about you." He signs at him, knowing that he won't understand him anyway. Midoriya's laugh was heard through the training ground as he saw what his friend signed. Shoto looked at him, completely lost. "He says that yes, he is signing about you." He translated. Understanding takes over Shoto's features as Katsuki realizes what Midoriya must have just done. "Deku!" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (Updated on Wednesday and the weekends) TodoBaku anyone??
