Katie comes from a small town in Ontario, her home life sucks and when she gets offered a scholarship to attend and play soccer at Stanford, she jumps on it. Along the way, she starts to let a few people into her personal bubble including Christen Press and Kelley O'Hara. They become close friends and as Christen and Kelley make their NWSL debuts, she is left on the outside, having not been offered a tryout with any of the teams. As the expiration date on her visa draws nearer and she edges closer to having to head back to Canada, Kelley comes up with the idea that they should get married, so she can stay in the country. The more they play the happy couple, the closer they become and soon they are no longer playing a couple, they are one.
Be gentle on me -- this is my first story. I felt inspired after reading a friend's stories and decided to give writing one a try.

Former USWNT players, Kelley O'Hara and Hope Solo have been married for a few years now. Kelley learns that Hope has cheated on her while she is expecting the couple's twin girls. It's the straw that breaks the camels back, Kelley can't handle Hope's cheating ways and asks for a divorce. It gets complicated when Kelley gives birth to their daughters. Riley's past isn't something most kids go through. Bad things happened, but when she got older, her dad decided it was best to move, and get away from something that seemed to haunt Riley. They moved from Arizona to California. About 1/4 into her junior year, Riley had to go to a new school, and make new friends. She didn't really care about having friends though, as long as she was able to play soccer, she would be okay. Soccer had always been there for her, when her mom died, when she didn't have anyone else, when she was in a bad mood. It was always there for her to play. She didn't need anyone else. That changed when she met Brooke Eckmann. Brooke is also a junior in high school, and is the varsity teams goalie. When they first meet on the field, it was something different. She couldn't stop thinking about her. It was something both of them had never felt before.
