This is an excerpt from my English literature portfolio I created in University a few years back!
This poem was inspired by Neil Gaiman's "Instructions", as I was intrigued by the simplicity yet creativity of the poem, as it was plain instructions with a variety of surreal elements in them.
The idea of the poem comes from starting smoking, and the light and darkness it brings to people's lives. I also mention about weed, which is also applicable to any other drug usage in people's lives.

Felix's past still haunts him. After the events that happened almost 10 years ago, He finally decided to talk it through with someone. Someone that could help with the painful memories. Hey y'all 🧍♂️ this is my first published story so. Please don't bully me. Uh so ig this is a first girl at Welton type thing?? Maybe a Charlie Dalton love story?? Here's an excerpt 😌 Claire smiled and looked over to Charlie, "Go brush your teeth, we can do the other half of the experiment, now," He nodded vaguely before disappearing back into his room. Claire prepared a Petri dish and swab and Charlie came into her room soon with a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. "I only smoke one, right?" "Just one," she replied, sitting on her bed. Charlie nodded and sat at her desk, lighting up, "You want one?" "No, thanks," He lit a cigarette and took a drag, "Why don't you smoke?" "I know there's a smoker inside of me somewhere and I don't want to let her out," Charlie closed his eyes for a moment, "There's a smoker... there's a smoker inside you?" "You heard me, Dalton," "Okay, but- but that doesn't make sense," Claire shrugged, "Sure it does. You can't possibly know everything about someone, Charlie. You don't even know everything about yourself. Everyone is a million little things inside one person," He nodded, "Something tells me you're not struggling with Mr. Keating's poetry assignment," Anyway I hope you guys enjoy! " what's wrong," he asked, fucking tears, now I have to answer him " nothing I'm fine," I said he scoffed " I didn't ask are you okay but obviously your not fine," he said I roll my eyes at him why can't he leave me alone " I'm not in the mood to talk Alex," I said drinking "you're never in the mood to talk to me," he said inhaling the smoke of his cigarette Alexander and Elliot they are alike but at the same time different one is deadly when you get close other one crazy when look deep into his soul Everyone are scared of Alexander and tries to stay away from him still girls and boys throw themselves at him but he has his eyes on Elliot Elliot is hurt but still smiles and laughs with his friend everyone in school fear him every girl wants him he hates gays but when Alexander stares at him he feels something and that scares him because he never thought he would these things towards a man So what happens when Elliot is not just attracted to Alexander but something more and Alexander notices that it's not lust he has for Elliot will Alexander and Elliot both heal each other and maybe love? What will happen in Elliot's life when Alexander enters? I know its sounds a cliché Highschool story but I promise it's not , I love BoyxBoy books to read and I thought I should write one, this book has a mature scene and little violent. I look around to see if anyone was watching. It was dark also. I stood there sucking the last bit of my cig and blew the smoke out. The smoke began forming a shape and I smirk as I chanted something. More like in a whisper. A command. "Move. Listen. Obey." I said after the chant and the smoke formed a shape of a wolf. It was still just a smoke but it was alive and moving. "Master."
