'Is she awake? Will I wake her up if I knock?' I wondered to myself. My thoughts were interrupted when the door suddenly opened, and there stood Namhee.
With a dumbfounded expression, I kept staring at her without saying anything until she slowly said, "Mark? Are you okay?" I still hadn't moved, so she waved a hand in front of my face. I blinked in surprise. "Why are you up at this time?" she asked. "Yeah, I'm fine," I snapped out of my daze, "I just couldn't sleep and went out to take a walk. I somehow ended up here." I nervously scratched the back of my head, "Why did you come out?" Now, I was confused.
She didn't look me in the eye, "I kinda wanted a drink. Do you want some hot chocolate?" She knew that I had been here. I guess I hadn't been hidden as well as I thought.
"No, that's okay. It's pretty late, and you should go to sleep," I assured her. With a smile, she waved for me to follow her, "It's fine. I wasn't sleeping anyway. So, come on."
I quietly followed her downstairs.
She made hot chocolate for the both of us. We drank it as we sat on chairs at the kitchen table. We talked for a bit when I noticed she was falling asleep. Her face had already fallen onto her resting arms on the table.
I gently lifted her bridal style in my arms and took her to bed. As I was gently tucking her in with her covers, I saw a cute teddy bear next to her. It suited her, and I smiled a goofy grin at the sight.
To thank her for the hot chocolate, I went down stairs and washed the mugs. Then, I ended up falling asleep on the couch in the living room. I never would've thought that just being with her would bring me peace of mind, and I'd fall asleep so fast.
