150 years prior to the birth of the legendary Will Treaty, Araluen is a dangerous place to live. Northern wars are going badly for the Araluen forces, made worse by their internal power struggles. A young Prince Anthony is sent to the front lines, but along the way, he meets the men that will become the first-ever Araluen Rangers.
Warning: I wrote this when I was twelve or so. Do not expect wonderfully-developed characters, don't shout at me for overused tropes and clichés, and for the love of Gorlog, PLEASE understand that I know it's not great.
DISCLAIMER: While I can credit myself with the majority of the characters themselves, the original idea for this world and its plot events are the work of John Flanagan. I recommend reading the Ranger's Apprentice series before this.

Will and Evalyn are kidnapped to Skandia, where they are separated and sold as slaves. However, this story is a bit different. Erak is already an Oberjarl and has recently established new laws to improve the lives of slaves. Despite this, the village Will ends up in doesn't seem to follow those laws. Will he survive until help arrives? Will help arrive at all? In the kingdom of Araluen, things are also not quite the same as we know them. Based on the 3rd and 4th books by John Flanagan, this is a completely reimagined story. Because why not? I don't own any rights to John Flanagan's novels, nor do I make any profit from them. I simply give free rein to my imagination and write whatever comes to mind, inspired by his works. You'll meet familiar characters from the books here, as well as some I've invented.
