After graduating high school, Iris and her boyfriend Gladden are invited back to Nevada to work for the Special Intelligence Agency. Upon arrival, Iris immediately struggles to put a lid on her lingering feelings for Jesse since they are once again living under the same roof.
While on her first mission to Washington D.C, Iris meets a street performer named Ace, a boy with strange abilities similar to that of a prism. As she gets to know Ace, Iris discovers secrets about Dr. Oliver Nicolas and the prism program. With this new information, she gathers the rest of the prisms together to figure out if SIA, Dr. Nicolas, and in particular Director Callahan, can be trusted.
With all of this new information, and trying to grapple with the drama surrounding her love life, Iris begins to spiral. It's only in this dark place that she sets her focus on the grander picture. What is Dr. Nicolas trying to accomplish? Are the prisms being used for an evil scheme? As Iris begins to figure out missing pieces of the puzzle, a certain someone notices that she is getting dangerously close to the truth and retaliates.
