In an attempt to protect her heart, newly single, Ember has sworn off love. Intrigued, the goddess Aphrodite decides to change the girl's mind. But when Ember's stubborn nature proves difficult, Aphrodite's intentions turn dark.

•---•---•

Ember Michaelson, hopeless romantic and sophomore in college has waited her entire life to find 'the one'. But when he breaks her heart she's left questioning everything she believes in and declares a ban on love.

Ember could never have foreseen that her small proclamation, or as others might call it: crazed public shouting, would carry to Mount Olympus. But it has, and now she's piqued the interest of someone who is not going to let her plans come to fruition.

The goddess Aphrodite loves a challenge almost as much as she loves gifts, and today is her birthday. Having stayed out of human affairs for centuries, she can't help but feel the allure of divine intervention when Ember's words find her ears. Aphrodite is determined to change Ember's mind, even if that means playing dirty.

Many forget that the goddess of love was born from the raging sea, but she would do anything to protect her daughter. Adora was Aphrodite's last daughter. Her mother kept her hidden. But, her mother isn't the only one who can keep a secret, especially in a world where your role in society is everything. For there was a prophecy long before she was born: 'Aphrodite's last child would be the one to take the throne, Her paternity unknown. They would carve her face and never forget, for she would be the most beautiful that they had met Cursed for the same fate as her mother Forced to leave her love for another The only way she shall break this curse is if she defeats the first' "Looks like the princess doesn't need saving after all." He says, quietly enough that no one else would hear, as he draws his hand away from my arm. I glare back at him. "Maybe she never did," I walk away, not sparing a single glance back, no matter how much my body was begging me to. I fuss over my hair, pouting as I run my fingers through it to put it back into place. *A warning note* I am not an expert on Greek Mythology, but it interests me greatly. Please excuse any inaccuracies in the book, but if there are any please do message or comment it and I will see if I can change it without making such a huge difference to the plot. Also, my main character is autistic and the experience will be different for everyone. I have tried my hardest to put down on paper how I feel and how I believe others see me. So, please be respectful about the decisions my characters make as I have chosen to give them many different types of neurodivergent brains. I have tried my best to represent these in the most accurate light whilst not romanticising them.
