Mirio is a well-known prince of the largest kingdom, Yuuei. The second largest kingdom is the Taiyo Kingdom (Sun Kingdom). When the kings of each kingdom want to conjoint themselves, it's made so that Nejire of the Taiyo kingdom will marry Mirio of the Yuuei Kingdom. But when Nejire's brother, Tamaki, is thrown into the mix, Mirio knows he has to do something to change this arranged marriage in order to be with the one he truly loves.

Tamaki Amajiki was not a social person. The fact that he willingly enrolled into UA for the hero course sometimes astounds himself. He barely spoke to anyone unless it was Mirio or Nejire, so the idea of him in a relationship ever was off the list.
