Those chosen to be in the highest ranks have the chance of being written into a story, or being blessed by a prophecy. 

Cristine is from a poor family, with only her brother left to provide for her family. Being blessed with a pretty face, she had been groomed her entire life to marry well. Until she is recognized by the book to be The Fairest Of Them All,  the girl from one of the oldest prophesies.
