While the quote stands correct, remember how many times we've heard 'Practice makes a man perfect' before? Does it? At many instances, we practice hard (E.g., controlling our anger, doing mental maths, perfecting our handwriting, etc.). However, we may not always succeed. In the worst-case scenario, our failures beget frustration. 
Then why do we believe in raising children with perfectionist tendencies? Why do we try to rush our child's development process by asking them to attain perfection in everything they do? Shouldn't practice be for self-improvement and personal growth?
