Katniss and Primrose Everdeen had come into this hard world and had to come into and even harder life. Noel and Shawn Everdeen are their parents. But.. when Katniss was 9 and Prim was 4, they got a divorce. Noel fought very hard to keep her girls, and in the end one. But she didn't win against herself. For all of their childhood, she did drugs. They were still to young to understand, but knew that their mom wasn't okay. Katniss grew up to save herself and her sister. And grew to hate her mother for leaving them. After their mother died from an overdoes, Katniss put up a wall around her heart and all new people in her life. Will a special Blonde Haired, Ocean Blue eyed, boy come to her rescue and pry open her shell? Or will Katniss be lost with the wrong people, and forever have her heart in a cage?

The story is set during the time period of "The Hunger Games" (book one of the trilogy). It is written from the perspective of Gale Hawthorne, and does not concern any events in books two and three. This is my first fan fiction, my first "real" attempt at long form prose writing, and my first Wattpad story. I appreciate constructive feedback, but please, no hate. While the characters and some plot points are based off of Suzanne Collins's Hunger Games Trilogy, (which I in no way own the rights to) I have created this story using my own imagination. She was left with her 14 year old sister to take care of and with hardly any money and a small house. She has to juggle school, bullying, depression, taking care of Prim and having an abusive boyfriend. Follow her life and her trying to hold on strong. I don't own any of these characters!!!
