World War IV has done a number on countries around the world, but none as disastrous as the United States. So, when eighteen year old Max Shackles and his friend, Rohn Ashford, are forced to leave their hometown and into the worst part of the world, they struggle to make it by as memories of their pasts and who they once were haunt them throughout their journey.

As Max and Rohn face trials of keeping their secrets hidden, they find out the world is much more dangerous as mercenaries and kingdoms throughout the country hunt them and their new friends for something they can't control.

As their family grows, a bigger threat arises as secrets begin leaking out.
