Liera has only ever know what it is like to live by candlelight. The sun does not come up each morning as they do in her novels, the moon does not wax and wane like her father once told her they had, and the stars do not guide the lost as they had done for the great explorers of past times.
But all she has ever known is candlelight, and even the small white flames do not give off the same glow that they once had before light went missing. And Liera Homalla is sick of it. She wants to see the light that once dominated all areas of the Beyond, and she's willing to do anything to see it.
