17-year-old Emma moves to long island new york to start a new life with her childhood best friend Tracy after fleeing from her abusive Father in Florida. She attends Long Island high school.
Emma is completely broken and her only coping mechanism is drugs. That's what she relies on to feel okay. She has always been quiet, and "weird" and didn't have many friends. She knew she had to get better, get sober, get help.
But then she meets Tracy's best friend, Gus.
A strange boy, who like like her; is quiet, and "weird." Gus has big dreams to change the world forever and impact many people, but he fights demons that hold him back from doing so.
Emma has fallen into a bad place, and so has Gus, they use each other toxicly until they become each other's drug.
