After the fall of the never forgettable USA, In the futuristic country of Jergo, in the year 2411, 15 year old Violet and 10 year old Meghan are both Hierlevent. The hold a force within them that could be dangerous to man kind. Many others are like them, but they are afraid to come out or they will be killed.
Two century's ago, acerbus organization leader Narven Tong's great, great grandfather created a system for the country and it's government to create a peaceful society, with no acts of thinking for yourself. Basically, his motive is to kill off all Hierlevents because they can revolt against the system and kill or destroy anything in their path. Violet and Meghan soon travel to the Amorus secret headquarters and find themselves in a plan to free Delin, Meghans mother and prevent Darcy(Hierlevent) from destroying the country of Jergo in an effort to make all Hierlevents rise and take over. But if you think about it, trying to fight fire with fire will only create more fire...

It is not long before Jago, the ruler of Saffire, learns that a woman on Saffire is pregnant and he unleashes all his power to prevent the birth. Jago will not give up power. Demalynn is surprised to find out she is the Helper, but is astounded to learn the identity of the Gravidarum. Demalynn must battle to stay alive and fumbles towards the realization that Aiden is much more than a close friend. She is certain, with the certainty that only a seventeen-year-old can possess, that Aiden is her only true love. This means to fight against giant beasts from faultlines, that have strange connections to rifts. There is a band of people quite successful with it and one in particular is celebrated like a popstar: Hades, (self-declared) God of the Underworld, trying to survive a world where the only worth a person like him is how much money he generates for the large companies called "guilds".
