Dupre and James, two newly appointed King's Guards, while out on their first patrol, encounter a small army of orcs, and they take actions that unknowingly spur much larger events.
Dupre and James are the definition of lowbrow and do not take themselves too seriously. The story has an unmistakable medieval setting, yet the dialog has a more contemporary feel.
I actually wrote this book 27 years ago, and I'm re-editing (lightly) as I publish here. I stand by the story, but the writing won't be entirely representative of my writing skills simply because I wrote it so long ago. I'm only spending limited time editing it, as I want to focus on new works.

Gideon Saint is fairly certain Saxon bowmen are more agreeable than Year 10s. Life is going good, or at least okay. He's surviving British public school, newly emancipated from his parents, and in his spare time he and his Welsh friends are surviving as rebels. But they can't forever, and King Henry is proposing a bargain. In return for Gideon's help against the French, namely Joan of Arc, England will grant Wales some level of independence. But Joan of Arc is a formidable adversary, and Gideon is well aware King Henry is not to be trusted. The fate of Wales hangs in the balance. Ahem, living people die, dying people live, Henry V is here and he's awesome despite being the main antagonist, everybody is probably gay, swords are described in loving detail, people are not, lovely platonic friendships, did we mention swords? I don't know how to explain it but it felt as though my brain was tearing in two, like my head was cracking open. When the pain stopped, I found myself surrounded by wolves, the shifted pups. This adventure follows a group of new guardsmen that must power through a variety overwhelming challenges, deaths, and battles between demons both within and externally. Dark themes and morals will rise up and test the bounds of what they are capable of. Note: I have drawn inspiration and ideas from a variety of sources. While some parts are a lot more obvious than others, I drew inspiration from: Attack on Titan, Bleach, Naruto, Hitman Reborn, HunterxHunter, Blood-C, Kuroko's Basketball, Undertale, and The Legend of Korra.
