Erika wanting to use her knowledge and skills for good, becomes a hero for Los Angeles and the world. On the second day of the job something happens, that causes her to second guess herself, and she steps back from the role she wanted to be for the world. Months later when her god-father Tony Stark can't get a threat under control, she steps back into the suit to help out. Making a comeback, she stays active and helps not only Stark, but also SHIELD with threats and missions. During which time, she finds out shocking information about her heritage.
