"To expel a demon, you become a demon," Lilith says, eyes looking off to a distance too far for me to see. "In order to get what we want, we would do anything-be anything-just to see that wish-upon-a-star of ours to become reality." She looks at me, eyes filled with a feeling I've never seen her express.
Regret.
"Listen here, child," Lilith says, her tone in warning. "If there's a will, there's a way. You don't realize it now but our wants are stronger than our morality. You either choose morals or desires, virtues or sins. You can never have both, not in an imperfect world like this. So what is it you choose? Angel or demon? Heaven or hell?"
I look at her. "If heaven is being trapped in a convent," I say. "Then I'd rather perish in hell."
Her lips curl into a smile but her eyes look away.
"If that's gonna be your decision," she says, "then you better not have any regrets."

...

How far will one go to expel a parasitic demon?
Will you go as far as to kill seven virtuous people?
Or will you only let the demon consume you and become a demon yourself...

The world is full of corruption, tragedy, and disaster. Rape, murder, embezzlement, human trafficking. You name it. There is nothing humans won't do for money, power or self-gratification. More than that it always seems that the downtrodden and the good-natured always suffer the most. The cherry on top? All this suffering is supposed to be rewarded in heaven when you die...if you make it there that is. Sounds ridiculous, right? Don't worry you aren't alone. My name is Jasmine Peters and I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired as the world around me crumbles while Sky Daddy watches from his ivory tower. I was cursed with the ability to read minds and now I'm owning this curse on my own terms and saving whoever I can with it. If God won't help us... I will. Gabriel: I'll never understand The Almighty's infatuation with these creatures. Humans demand so much, but yet they give so little and whatever they are given they destroy. The audacity of this human especially leaves me particularly annoyed. She dares to defy divinity and scoffs in the face of The Almighty when it was divinity that has gifted her with the ability to do so in the first place. Only a creature as lost as a human would be given a gift and label it a curse. Nonetheless, as the hand of The Almighty, I will do as I am asked by tending the flock and heard this lost sheep back to pasture. As troublesome as she may be, I fear there is something much more sinister at play and she appears to be at the epicenter of this chaos.

Using ancient tools crafted by the elves long ago, humans had built mega cities to protect themselves from the onslaught of demons. Thus, ushering in a safer world outside of the north. Lilith, a cursed human, works as a carrier who takes on jobs delivering all sorts of mail all around the world, traversing these dangers. Carriers more times than not have the capability to defend themselves, be it with physical strength or magical strength. For Lilith, that is not the case. Although there is an upside or two to being a cursed, there are far more negatives than positives. One day, when looking for her next job to take, she came across one that was pushed to the side. It required a delivering all the way to the north, something no carrier would ever dare to do as the stories of what was beyond the Scar scared even the strongest away. Are those stories fake? Why have the demons slowly disappeared in the south? Although it was always worth to take caution, and even if the roads may not be safe to travel by yourself, it made people wonder what was truly up there. If there was any danger to worry about after all these years. The story follows the carrier Lilith and her journey to the north to deliver a package, yet the package is only the beginning as she discovers how the north became such a barren landscape and learns what she is and her true capabilities.

"Its been one year and eight months since, and now all of a sudden you bring her up, why now? Out of all days?" I ask Jake sincerely. "I can see the act your putting up in front of everyone. The recklessness and all. You can get away with all of that with everyone else, but you can't fool me Bil," Jake tells me concerningly. "Why does it matter? I moved on, I have Drew. I'm not stuck on her anymore. Clearly - I've proven that by now," I say to Jake. "Do you mean that sincerely?" Jake asks me. I huff before looking back at Jake. "Yes. I do," I say to him truthfully. "Alright well. Finneas decided that it was best that I'd break the news to you," Jake says before sitting up in his seat. I look at him with my eyebrows furrowed, and suddenly a deep trench of anxiety forms in the pit of my stomach. "What is it?" I ask him. He hesitates before speaking. "Lilith is coming back to LA to work on the stage crew," Jake says. My eyes slightly widen. Fuck. ~~~ A year has gone by and now Lilith is back. Although a reunion is coming up, a year can change a person drastically, and as they say, change is inevitable. Will Lilith be able to reconnect with Billie? Or is it seemingly hopeless? Will Lilith finally remember Billie? Or did change form Lilith into a completely different person? ~~~ (This is the Second Book to the first book called 'Sweet Belladonna'. I highly recommend you go back to read the first one before continuing on reading this one, or else you'll be majorly confused.) ~~~ AU (Alternate Universe); Though some characters are real, this is fiction.
