Most normal people don't know this, but there's more sentient beings in this world then "human". Humans do dominate the main population, but most don't know of the different other types of people our world has... 'cept in fairytales.
However, there are some who know. Take the military for one, they have been acting in secret for decades, trying to figure out how to bind the genetic codes of several different species together into one being.
Carmen Parks, their leading scientist, finally figured it out, and opted to be the one to bring this new species into existence...on the government's payroll of course...only she doesn't know it initially.
I'm Gemma Parks, and I'm a hybrid...only I'm not aware of this in the beginning. I'm also the government's top agent, and have yet to be clued into what all I truly am...until I shift for the first time.

Shifter Academy: Book One Of The Shifter Academy Series
'Book 1 in the Shifter series' My name is Celina Birch and until yesterday me, and my siblings; Sydney and Alexander but Alex for short, thought we were human. Turns out we our from a family of shifters but, we would not know thy due to our parents dying when we were young and being adopted. The animal you shift into does not run in blood like people think. Yes, some family's lean more towards one animal but there are occasions where a member will shift into a different animal. It all depends on your personality. There are 22 types of animals you can shift into. Some are common and some are rare. Now we have the birds: the Ravens, the Eagles, the Vultures, and the Falcons. Then we have the felines: the Panthers, the Tigers, the Cougars, the Snow Leopards, the Cheetahs, and the Lions. Then we have our canines: the wolves, the foxes, the coyotes, and the hyena's. Are common because there are the mythical ones too. The flying creatures: the Hippogriffs, the Dragons, the Pegasus's, the Phoenixes, the Thunderbirds. The water creatures: the Sirens, the Mermaids, the Kelpies. The shapeshifting academy is kind of like Hogwarts with the letters and using owls for sending mail. Yes, there is a castle for the academy and no, there isn't any witch or wizards those are supposedly extinct. Now I have to go were going to find out what animal we shift into at the ceremony soon. If only I knew then that there was actually 23 types of shifters ~~~~~~~~~~ I wrote this series when i was very young, so any mistakes or grammar issues, or long descriptions, I am sorry about, but I won't be fixing them anytime soon either.הושלם

Everyone has one thing or more things, that make them special. Perfect examples, able to burp the ABC's, singing backwards or even making things float with your mind. Yeah you heard me, I can make things float with my mind, and later you'll be finding what else I can do. For the longest time, it was always me, Aunt Grace and my best friend in all the world Lucas. My parents both died when I was little and I don't remember them; so I've been living with my Aunt ever since. We have family, but they aren't exactly in our zip code and they don't exactly keep in touch. We don't either, so we are really no better then them. Leaving my normal life behind, I step into a world that has, Werewolves, Vampires, Giants, Fairies, Witches, Warlocks and Hybrids of mixed families, waiting for me. The first day at my knew school, lets just say I blew the roof off the castle. Long story short, really fast way to make people hate you even more then they already do real fast. Oh and three more thing before you start reading my story. Never open the door to three strangers in the rain, it very well might change your life for better or worse. There is also Hunters, that want to kill all of us, just because we are different. This caused him to roll off of me and I jumped up. so quick I nearly missed it, Xavier stepped forward and grabbed me so my back was pressed against his chest and his arms were holding my arms by my sides. I struggled, but that's when I realised, I'm too short to ram my head into his chin, my arms were held down and my legs completely useless. I. Was. I ran, and I ran, and I ran, trying to get as far away from the mansion as possible. I was too weak to shift, but my determination kept me running. The house disappeared from my line of vision, and I was soon surrounded by greens. I didn't know where I was going, and at this moment, I didn't care. I was officially a fugitive.
