Penny Turner is a 25 year old failure. Dead-end job, dead-end flat, dead-end boyfriend.  All her friends have made successes of their lives whilst Penny drifts from one job to the next, trying to work out why her life is just so calamitous. 

After getting sacked live on television, then accidentally whacked on the head twice, Penny ends up in a coma where her fairy Godmother gives her the option of going back nine years to sort herself out.  Aged sixteen Penny has the chance to put right all the wrongs in her life.  Only, nothing is quite as easy as it seems.  Can Penny really make a success of herself?
