Nineteen-year-old Hannah makes her way through the desolate land that was once the Eastern United States. She is accompanied by a young boy named Sable as she searches for the coast, a place where the blinding dust and the flesh-devouring birds won't find them.

This 7-part short story is just over 10,000 words. "From Dust" is the first entry in Jonah Westenra's Katabasis Anthology.
