This is a series of AU vignettes in which each member of the Fellowship hears the call of the Ring -- and answers it. My take on the big What-If. Varying degrees of angst, drama, action, and perhaps a little more angst. This series won First Place in the MEFA Awards quite a few years ago now. This idea brewed in my brain for a long time before I finally got it out of my head and onto 'paper.' It would never have happened without my beta reader, Thundera Tiger, and I can't thank her enough. Not with ten thousand men could you do this. It is folly." He ended in a state like manor As I sighed shaking my head at what he said "Have you heard nothing Lord Elrond has said ? The ring must be destroyed" Legolas said "It is true you cannot just walk into the gates of Mordor but you should not be so naive as to think you alone could destroy the ring" I said as Gimli looked towards me "And I suppose you think you're the one to do it ?" Gimli said cockily "And if we fail,what then ? What happens when Sauron takes back what is his ?" Boromir questioned looking towards Gimli as he leaps to his feet "I will be dead before I see the Ring in the hands of an Elf!" Gimli says looking towards me spitefully. "How dare you speak to me in such a manor dwarf!" I said rage in my voice as the council erupted into a storm of arguments. "Never trust an Elf!" Gimli said towards me as I reach for my arrow but a hand grabs my wrist and I feel warm breath on my ear "I wouldn't" Legolas' voice says against my skin as I look at him our faces inches apart. "Fine" I say through gritted teeth as Legolas lets go of my hand softly and stands by my side.
