"Take off the hoodie!"

"No Jaycee! Just leave me alone!"

"Tatum take it off now. He demanded

She groaned and shrugged off the hoodie, Jaycee grumbled seeing she had a long sleeve on under her hoodie.

"That too." He said, giving her a tone and look that left no room for argument.

She sighed and took her long-sleeved shirt off as well, looking down at her feet as she covered her chest with her arms.

"That's it! I'm calling him. This has gone on for too long." He growled.

"No!" Tatum reached for his phone, snatching it from his hands, never looking at the phone, never realizing it was too late, Jaycee had already hit call.
She just glared at Jaycee.

"You promised Jaycee! that you wouldn't say anything!" She yelled.

"Well I'm sorry, but I'm going to break this promise, Tatum. You need to tell him."

"Jaycee, you can't tell Grey!"

"Call him right now and tell him yourself Tatum or I will." His voice was low and demanding.

"We're not even on good terms Jaycee, we haven't talked since he kicked me out after HE kissed me!" She cried, falling to her knees and that's when she saw Jaycee's phone screen, how it displayed an ongoing call.

She was deadly silent as she shakily brought the phone to her ear.

"Hello?"

"What are you hiding Tatum?" His voice asked, too calm for her liking.

She stayed silent and looked up at Jaycee hopefully, she gulped as he just crossed his arms over his chest.

"Tell Jaycee to bring you to the house." And he hung up.

"Take me to the house." She mumbled and she stood up, handing him the phone, and shrugged her long-sleeved shirt back on, holding her hoodie in her hands.

To say she was petrified was an understatement.

BOOK #1 in The Fire series TRIGGER WARNING IN SOME CHAPTERS He leans closer, keeping me pinned against the wall with his hands on either side of my head. I glanced at both of them before holding his glare with my own. He was giving me a cold stare, caging me in like an animal. I bit my lip, trying to hold it back. I was never good in situations like these. He stopped leaning forward when his face was just inches from mine. He was trying to make me uncomfortable. Trying to scare me, but he didn't. I wasn't scared of him. I didn't hide my face or get nervous... I just bit my lip harder, trying to hold it in. It would just make things worse for me, I bet. He kept his eyes on mine as I glanced at his friend behind him with his arms crossed and a bored expression on his face. I looked back at the man in front of me. "You shouldn't act that way around me." He says coldly. "I can have you dead right-" I couldn't hold it in. I started laughing. He leans back, shocked, but his face goes into a glare as soon as his friend behind him perks up, watching, interested now. I calm down a little. "I'm sorry." I say, catching my breath. "Continue, Continue." He watched me closely before leaning closer to me again. "I can have you killed-" Suddenly, I lost it again, laughing harder, bending a little to hold my stomach. He punched the wall in an effort to scare me but instead made me laugh even harder, falling to the ground and rolling on my side. Soon I had his friend laughing with me as the man in front of me glared at both of us. "Don't give me that look. She's the one who started laughing." His friend said, wheezing a little bit and trying to stop laughing. I calmed down a bit, standing up to face them, a smile on my face. "Now, if you're done threatening me," I raise an eyebrow. "Or at least trying to. I'll be on my way." With that, I grabbed my backpack, turned my back to them, and walked away.

His hands got caught in my hair as he kissed me harder. Our tongues danced together and he shoved me up against the wall. My fingernails scraped down his bare back and he lifted me up to wrap my legs around his waist. He kissed a trail down to my neck and then froze. “You’ve been smoking.” He said pulling away from me. I sighed as he set me down and took a step away from me. “I smoked once today, ok? It’s not that big of a deal.” “Lissa!” Jace shouted at me. “You promised you’d stop! You said you were done with drugs a long time ago.” “I promised a lot of things that I never did!” I screamed back him. He raked his hands through his hair and started pacing. “Drugs aren’t good for you, Lissa. You need to stop.” “You can’t control my life.” I snapped. “I won’t be with you if you’re too high to remember any of it.” “Then maybe I’ll go back with Trey.” **** Lissa finally decides to go back to her families vacation house for the summer. She’d always been treated as ‘one of the boys’ by the other kids who went to the vacation house. The twins were finally eighteen and had convinced all of the parents to let the teenagers spend time at the house for the summer. Trey and Jace, the good lucking twins, haven’t seen Melissa in two years because she’d been skipping the family vacation even though her own twin Ian had tagged along. They remember her as the slightly chubby, underdeveloped, nerdy girl that they treated like a brother; but boy are they in for a surprise when she walks in the door looking completely different. She also has another secret neither of them knows about, how shocked will they be when they find out? With all of their longtime friends, the beach, the sun, and the freedom they’re sure to get into loads of trouble, and fun. But will romance ruin a friendship? This is the sequel to The Cheerleader and The Bad Boy. Although reading that book is not necessary to read this one.

My breath hitched as Jayce's hand wrapped around my throat, his touch firm but not tight, just enough to send a pulse of heat through my veins. He leaned in close, his body a wall of heat, his dark eyes burning into mine with a fury I couldn't look away from. "You keep pushing me, Ford," he growled, his voice low and rough, vibrating through me. "One of us is going to snap." I forced myself to meet his gaze, smirking even as my pulse quickened, trying to ignore the way his hand made everything feel too close. "Maybe I'm not the one who should be careful." His thumb brushed my skin, sending a shiver down my spine, and I could feel his restraint slipping, his focus flickering to my lips. I held my breath, my body thrumming with anticipation. "Careful," he murmured, his voice low and deadly, sending a warning I could practically taste. "I don't stop once I start." I lifted my chin slightly, locking my eyes with his. "Then don't." _ _ _ Zoe Ford, the sharp-tongued daughter of LA's top police chief, has always lived under the weight of her family's legacy. "Don't even try to deny it", she spat at me. "I see the way you look at Brad, the way you talk to him as if you two are the only ones in the room. You're constantly around him, craving his attention. It's pathetic". "Wow, I'm pathetic? Yet I'm not the one feeling threatened by my boyfriend's best friend, am I?", I answered as she looked at me with eyes full of aversion. I had never felt more hatred towards me than at this moment. "Look, I don't know where this is coming from, but you're wrong, I'm happy with Jay". [...] "Wouldn't it be unfortunate if Jay were to hear about how you have to fake it in bed?" My heart sank at the sound of what she had just said. Brad had told her. He had told her the most intimate secret I had shared with him. "What do you think you're achieving by doing this?" I asked, swallowing down my tears. "You're gonna get dumped as soon as Brad hears about this". "But that's the thing, he won't know about this conversation, 'cause that would mean your precious boyfriend will hear about your little secret". [...] I had so many things I wanted to tell Brad, or more like yell at him. But I couldn't, because once again, that would have meant he'd know about Ash's blackmail. And I knew she'd go forward with her threats if I told anything to him. I was facing a wall. Whatever I decided to do, I would end up losing. If I told Brad about my conversation with Ashley, I'd lose Jay. But for her to keep her mouth shut and for me to keep Jay, I'd have to give up my friendship with Brad. But how good of a friendship was it anyway? A best friend wouldn't go tell all your deepest secrets to random people. No, a best friend wouldn't make fun of you like that. Stephanie Walker - straight-A student, sweet, pretty, and every parent's dream. Her life is perfectly planned out... until her senior year trip throws her into the chaotic orbit of the school's golden boy. Now her final year in high school isn't looking so simple. "Don't let me catch you, cupcake," his voice boomed from downstairs, and I took off running. I ducked behind a pole, heart racing, trying to calm my nerves. Way to go, Stephanie, my subconscious snarked. His footsteps echoed closer. "Where are you, cupcake?" he called out playfully. Like I'd actually tell you, I thought, holding my breath. Silence. Then, warm fingers snaked around my waist, and I didn't need to turn to know it was him. "Found you," he whispered in my ear, and a shiver zipped down my spine. "How?" I breathed, turning to face him. His smirk told me he knew exactly what he was doing to me. Get it together, fool, I mentally scolded myself. "Want the sugarcoated version or the truth?" he teased. I raised a brow at him. "I could smell you from a mile away," he whispered, tucking a lock of hair behind my ear. Butterflies. So many freaking butterflies. "That was the sugarcoated version," he added with a grin. I blinked, narrowing my eyes. "The pole didn't hide you well. Your cardigan was sticking out," he shrugged. And then came the smirk. "Now, time for my revenge." I barely had time to process before something soft and powdery rained down on me. I wiped my face. Flour. He did not just dump flour on me even if I started it. Mature, much? I thought bitterly. Poker face on. "Real mature," I said, brushing past him with fake annoyance. Time to activate drama mode. "Come on, babe, you can't be mad..." he called after me. This book is everything. You NEED to read this.
