Excerpt:
As I walked up to Drew his smile soften and he said in a soft voice, "Hey."

I looked up into his blue eyes that seemed to somehow get even brighter out here, "Hello."

"Can you do me a favor and hold my board for me while I get my wet-suit on?"

I nodded at him placing a hand on it and looking at his board, actually seeing it for the first time. It was dark, almost teal, blue with a pair of white lines running down the middle. It was simple but I liked it, I turned back to Drew to say as much.

Seeing he had already taken off the jeans he was wearing and had orange plaid swim trunks on underneath, nothing left my mouth as I looked at him. I had glanced back just in time to watch Drew take his tank top off and all I could do was stare at him, my mouth still open from the words I never uttered.

I took in his toned chest and rippling six-pack, all of his torso an even tan. I was still drinking in the site of him when he looked over at me. Somehow I got the feeling Drew knew what he was doing to me, the effect he had.

[ COMPLETED ] "Blue." I heard a deep raspy voice that came close as I was sitting alone scanning through my laptop inside this local cafe on the island. I pulled my head up to check who it could be and saw a tall man with a long brown tousled hair, topless, tattoos almost everywhere on his body and had a blue green board shorts. He had the most perfect curls that a man can have and it makes me wonder what's his shampoo or does he even put conditioner after. I envied his long luscious locks which was slightly past his shoulders. His eyes, glued on mine, were an amazing hue of emerald green as he flashes me his dimpled smile. I looked over my shoulder and found no one there so he must be talking to me. I look back at this man who is still smiling at me. "Excuse me?" I chimed, confused about what he meant. "Blue." He repeats again and there's a way on how he said it that makes his plump lips look hot. I scoff, "I'm sorry, are we talking about colors here?" The man with green eyes chuckles breathlessly. "Your eyes, they're a lovely shade of ice blue." "Thanks." I answer dryly. "But I'm not interested." "Oh, I truly apologize. I didn't know you were into ladies." I stare at him for a while, examining his tattoos and that damn huge butterfly tattoo in the middle of his chest. I travelled my eyes back to his face and noticed his prominent jawline. "I meant I'm not interested with you." I tell him the boy with long hair and green eyes. Date Written: July 2020 Date Finished: March 8, 2021 WORD COUNT: 323,369

"Are you... lost?" Someone asked, her tone impatient. I stopped scanning the room to find the woman behind the voice. I blinked. She had the most luminous blue eyes I had ever seen. Even in the dim glow of the bar they glowed brightly, like her pupils were some type of smooth stone at the bottom of a clear blue ocean. Within her blue there flickered tiny speckles of silver, which gave her an icy, somewhat stony appeal. But it was her slight, lopsided smile that erased any signs of wanting to be alone. No wonder this bar was so popular. "Uh, no," I said, holding up the Help Wanted sign I had snagged from the front window. The woman's cool eyes flickered between the sign and me. She didn't say anything, only looked slightly thoughtful as slender fingers raked through her long blonde hair. "What can you do?" She finally asked, definitely not expecting me to be able to do much of anything at all. She'd be right. "Anything and everything," I answered-lied-instantly, hoping I didn't look too desperate, didn't sound too eager. To be perfectly honest, I hadn't worked a day in my life. My hands were used to weekly manicures not hard labor. But desperate times call for desperate measures. The blonde appeared thoughtful again. Those magnificent eyes gave me a once over, slow and steady. You could see the cogs turning in her head as she considered it. I decided to try and sound more convincing. "I have many skills," I added. Okay, so I stole that from Xena, but I was hoping it worked as well for me as it did for her. The blonde lifted a sculpted brow and the smile was, once again, back on her lips. She seemed amused. Maybe she was a Xena fan? "Alright... I'll start you off cleaning the bathrooms, sweeping the floors, doing the dishes..." Crap.

"I need a surf board, please." The voice was so quiet and musical that, for a second at least, I couldn't register the order. I looked up slowly, dragging out the moment that my eyes could rest on his. "Sorry?" "A surfboard." l couldn't comprehend this relatively straightforward command. I was so sidetracked by his face. It was long, slender; dotted with freckles and the colour of fresh caramel. The cheekbones stood out prominently from his face, and his jaw was so deep set that it appeared as if he was permanently grinding his teeth. The boy's eyes were hard, but soft somehow; the exact shade of burnt sugar, and they bored into mine questioningly, surprised, as if he were completely unaware of his beauty. I doubted that very much. I had just torn my eyes away from his hair: blonde, curly and tousled, falling over his eyes perfectly, when he coughed. "Hello any day soon?" His voice was deep and scratchy now, and it was directed right towards me. Still dazed, I reached over for the clipboard with all the rentals. "Okay, in my defence, I just started working here." He laughed, and it was so attractive that I got the heart-in-throat feeling I had only experienced with Oscar before. The boy shifted from foot to foot as I surveyed the rest of his appearance: white shirt, shorts, and an earring just poking it's way out from a curl in his hair. He fetched the surfboard and put it on the counter. The money was suddenly thrust in my direction. "Maverick." he said, not quite meeting my gaze. "Reece." I returned. Damian's laughter was warm as he took the cracker, the smile forming on his face one of the kind that made the world unbelievably bright despite the dark sky above them. Emilia couldn't help but smile in return, warmth flooding her chest at the sight of his crinkling eyes. He was just so beautiful. She didn't know how many times she'd thought it since first meeting him last winter, but she was sure, as her eyes lingered for a long time on every angle and curve of his face, that she would never stop thinking it. That she would never think it too much because it was so absolutely true. The way the moon caught on the few gold strands strewn throughout his brown hair, the curve of his lips in his smile, the sparkle of the stars reflected in his eyes. She wanted to memorize him, to recall every freckle and eyelash, to never forget the way he blinked-softly-or the way he breathed-steadily." **WARNING: -considerable swearing -TW: brief discussion of depression in Chapter 4, bipolar disorder in Chapter 5

Standalone Honeymoon for one Rebound/Second chance romance HEA After I embarrassed and left my fiancé stunned at the altar, I ran off to Barbados--the two-week all-inclusive trip Tristan bought for our honeymoon. While trying to forget the man who betrayed me, I met Gareth--a tall, dark-haired, blue-eyed, overly sexy man who had me swooning every time he smiled his playful, flirtatious smile at me. The guy was hot AF, and the more we hung out, the more attracted to him I became. Causing me to let down my guard when I agreed to sleep with him with no strings attached for the rest of our stay. All I wanted was a distraction to help keep me from thinking about what led Tristan to want to try new things and explore his sexual desires. I got what I wanted, but when I left Barbados, I went with more than what I came with. Now I have no idea what to do because the agreement I made with Gareth was with no strings attached--just sex buddies while vacationing. I'm screwed, because the agreement I made with Gareth would've worked had I not been attracted to him, fallen in love with the guy, or left Barbados with a piece of him. I can't see myself with any other guy, and I don't want to be with anyone other than Gareth. Now, I have to do everything I can to find him before it's too late.
