Six guns glinted menacingly in the dull glow of the capsules light.
Two of them, pointed at Jake. Two at Nick. Two at Jade.
"Something told me I couldn't trust you." Nick said.
Jade just stared at Jake.
...
He was doomed to spend 48 hours with mortal enemies.
There were no toilets on the capsule.
...
The picture of Hannah burning never left his mind.

"It's human nature. It's instinct to survive, no matter the cost." The world has fallen into desolation. The apocalypse has already started and finished, leaving some of the surviving ones with strange powers and mysterious scars. The world has ended, according to some, and is now in a state of rebirth. Others say it hasn't ended yet and that it's only going to get worse. The remaining people have grouped together in packs and gangs, raiding the desolate cities and avoiding the ones called the Destroyers, who capture and torture the remaining survivors. No one is safe. One fifteen year old boy knows this better than anyone. He and his older sister lived together, sticking to the dark alleys of their abandoned city, and survived for years after the apocalypse, until the Destroyers came and took her away, reigning terror on the few who remained in the city. The boy, desperate to find someone to help him save his sister, leaves the city and finds one of the youngest cooperative packs in North America, called the Raiders, comprised of unwanted individuals with the strange powers left from the destruction of years past. Their leader, a destructive insomniac, promises to help him in return for the skills and usefulness this young boy seems to possess, but something disrupting sends waves of unease through the Raiders, something about a forgotten past and talk of a mutiny. "Maybe there's more to life than just surviving." ... Rated C for Caution. Though it's rated mature, there is no bad language or vivid descriptions of sexual contact. It does have very strong themes. Please read the two important notices in the intro. Read at your own risk. Thanks. It's been five years since the plague struck. Leah knows there are other survivors, but she's avoiding them. She is doing just fine on her own. Surviving after everyone she knew died has made her physically strong and honed her intelligence, but she is emotionally devastated. There is nothing to fear if you don't make yourself emotionally vulnerable. James has spent the last five years helping to build up a colony of survivors. He believes in the small town they have populated and its mission to save humanity from extinction. He and his small team of men find scattered people and bring them in. Over the last two centuries, women have fought for and won more and more rights, gaining equality with men. Society, law, and technology bolsters and enforces these rights, but now they are gone. Women's equality with men is over. There are just too few of them. They aren't lesser but greater, more important, more valuable than men. Men are expendable. Men can stay outside alone if they like, but all women must be brought inside the safety of the Colony and properly taken care of. James has been searching the area Leah lives in. Her time of solitude is up. Leah sparks something in James he's never felt before. He's not letting this one get away, certainly not twice. Warning: Contains sex, some violence, occasional foul language, and adult issues. Genre: Science Fiction, Romance, Post-apocalyptic, Dark romance Length: 84,468 words This book has been published on Amazon. The first ten chapters will be updated to what you get in the published novel and will remain here, so you can try before you buy.

Once Upon an Alien

54 parts Complete Mature

New edited version out now!!! I highly recommend reading that one instead, as this was the very first rough write of this story! As an alien invasion begins, a hiking trip with friends turns into a survival mission and an epic adventure. When Morgan finds herself alone, who will she trust and who will be her best ally against the apocalypse? Faced with the struggle against these aliens, she has to decide who, or what, will be by her side as she fights for her life. Where will this survival adventure even take her? And what is she willing to do to save her own life and even her planet? This story is currently under editing: none of the plot will change, only adding details and revising words etc. Thanks for giving this story a read! WARNING! This story will contain graphic details, mature content, strong language and other things which some readers may not agree too! Readers BEWARE! COMPLETE! All chapters will have a minimum of 1,000 words!
