Cambaleei como um maldito zumbi que acabou de sair da cova até a pia e encarei meu reflexo naquele espelho despedaçado cuja parede de azulejos encardida estava cheia de pichações e frases obscenas.  
	Meu rosto velho me encarou de volta, minha careca brilhava sob a luz pálida que jorrava do teto e profundas olheiras me davam um ar doentio. Então, forçando a visão na esperança de enxergar melhor, vi que um filete de sangue vermelho-brilhante escorria de uma ferida em minha testa, onde a maldita dor pulsava.
