This play is about 3 best friends at Proverbs High-school going into their Junior year in the '80s of Spring Hill, Florida. One of the African American descent (Taivon Taylor), one of the Hispanic descent (Marcus Mendez) and one of the Caucasian descent (Derek Davis). Join them and experience the friendship and how it will be tested, along with the interracial relationships they try to pursue and the trials and tribulations that follow them. Welcome to the Multi-Cultural life between 3 timid friends. Will they find romance in their High-school crush or just the trouble that lurks nearby? 

Through online research of the history and culture of Spring Hill, I found out that the county starts up on August 14th. I just so happens to be lead with Caucasian (including White Hispanic), Non Hispanic White and then Hispanic (or Latino). There just so happens to be a quintessential few of the African American descent.

Just for the fun of it, I found myself going through the whole Bruno Mars 24K Album and imagining how I could set up each song into a Musical. With some motivation from my Father during a trip down to South Carolina for the Thanksgiving Break of 2017 Timid was born.


My name is Steven Hall. At this moment, I am a graduating Senior Music Recording Technology Major with a Minor in Theater from Hampton, University. I would like to formally introduce to you the first play I have written. I have had the pleasure to work this through for a few years with the help of Susan Chavez and Tyree Champion. It is now the start of senior year and a new school "Confessions Page" has appeared on their Instagram timelines. At first, it is just something to browse, but certain people, and certain circumstances turn Onika's already hectic world upside down. Only then, she meets somebody who is a little strange to her, she just can't decide if she likes it or not. With being popular, comes a big reputation. For Beyoncé, her reputation is that of a whores. Ever since her mother died under mysterious circumstances, she runs through girls like it's nobody's business, her only source of sanity, her medication. After harboring a crush on the nerdy Onika Maraj, she finally notices her through one of her friends Instagram stories. This time, I can't help but flinch as touches me and pulls the other strap down .. baring my other shoulder to his eyes. "Anthony, you can't say those things. We ... we're supposed to be best friends." He kisses my shoulder and the words come out weak, unbelievable .. unconvincing even, as they come from my own lips. Anthony stays quiet after what I say, or rather he ignores me, instead using his other hand to play with the skin on my stomach exposed from the top. "I know .." He trails off. I hold my breath in wait, the temporary silence sending my mind spinning at the situation that'd developed. "But I don't know if that's enough for me, B." Anthony moves my hair to side as he says the words endearingly. And then there's another kiss to pair. Although it isn't a simple peck this time. It's an actual kiss, slow and softly pressed into the nape of my neck. Beatrix thought she'd never trust another guy again. Her last relationship had changed her, in so many ways that she hated. The experience had been unbelievable and both unbearable. After doing the first year and a half of college online, she transfers to the esteemed, private Highland University with just one wish: Normalcy. The plan was simple .. just keep her head down, study her ass off, try to become a functional person once again and hopefully make one friend or two. Everything was supposed to start over that year, a fresh start for her. She'd had high hopes and was faithfully prepared to blend in to the background. And it does go well. I pull his neck down so quickly that he doesn't get the time to adjust to what is going on.
