This play is about 3 best friends at Proverbs High-school going into their Junior year in the '80s of Spring Hill, Florida. One of the African American descent (Taivon Taylor), one of the Hispanic descent (Marcus Mendez) and one of the Caucasian descent (Derek Davis). Join them and experience the friendship and how it will be tested, along with the interracial relationships they try to pursue and the trials and tribulations that follow them. Welcome to the Multi-Cultural life between 3 timid friends. Will they find romance in their High-school crush or just the trouble that lurks nearby? 

Through online research of the history and culture of Spring Hill, I found out that the county starts up on August 14th. I just so happens to be lead with Caucasian (including White Hispanic), Non Hispanic White and then Hispanic (or Latino). There just so happens to be a quintessential few of the African American descent.

Just for the fun of it, I found myself going through the whole Bruno Mars 24K Album and imagining how I could set up each song into a Musical. With some motivation from my Father during a trip down to South Carolina for the Thanksgiving Break of 2017 Timid was born.


My name is Steven Hall. At this moment, I am a graduating Senior Music Recording Technology Major with a Minor in Theater from Hampton, University. A few years pass and Astra finds it difficult to deal with the trauma she experienced as a young child, but surrounded by friends and throwing herself into education she starts to heal, until she meets Jason. In the beginning Jason was a kind, caring guy who seemed genuinely interested in getting to know Astra, but not everyone is who they seem to be. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TW LIST!!!! "Listen Kenzy, I know I've been an ass and truthfully maybe you shouldn't even bother returning my calls. You're right, I've been nothing but awful since we met, driving you away yet desperate to keep you close" My heart clinches, but I dared not breathe. Too afraid to give in, too afraid that if I reach for the phone, I'll call. I'll call to make it right. I want to make it right, because this man affects me more than I ever thought he would. But it isn't right. I can't give myself false hope. "Please just talk to me, let me explain. It's not you.....it's me. I'm the asshole. You don't deserve this, you didn't. ..." He pauses and I hold my breath still, fearing he'd hear me breathe, yet, it's only his left voicemail on the phone. Not him "I'm sorry.......dammit!" And that's it, our one sided conversation ends and I'm more broken than before. What happens when your world crashes? When the people you thought would be there forever literally runs through the door without a second glance backwards? What happens with taking a step outside your comfort zone? What happens when that step outside that comfort zone turns into....well unexpected? Personalities clash, feelings are crushed and just maybe that one person you ignore turns out to be the damn life savers. Easy enough, but did I forget to mention they belong to someone else? Writing a memoir at only fifteen years old has taught me a lot. Giving me the time to reflect on the lessons I learned the hard way and the mistakes I've made thus far. I learned, if there is at least two sides to every story, there is at least two sides to every person. What could be a smile is a broken heart in a deeper reality. We all live in a society where nothing is as it seems, the people being more complex and astonishing than the countless novels we read. And in a world ruled by tragedies, we are the survivors. Getting through our own history, more important to us then what we read in school. We take our story one page at a time, word by word because in the end, it will all be worth it. I dedicate this memoir to the people who have been with me on my journey of self discovery, even if only in spirit. Mom- Who has made non stop sacrifices to ensure my happiness and well being. Nothing would be possible without you! Grandma- Who has inspired me and made a huge influence to the person I am now and who I'll be in the future. Callie- My own personal slave, illustrator, editor and full time best friend. You know I love you <3 Ariana Grande- My celebrity inspiration, showing me that it's ok to "love who you love, no one can judge, follow your heart and don't give up", getting me through the long and lonely nights. Be sure to buy her new album "Moonlight", hopefully to be released this year and her new fragrance "Ari" in accordance to the "Be You" campaign. Adam Young (Of Owl City)- My first artist I listened to, your songs make me think of the past and the new adventures to come. Sam Tsui- The album "Make it up" taught me to not be scared of not knowing what's going to happen next. Being young and naive Isn't necessarily a bad thing, as it brings way to new experiences, to be vulnerable and crying doesn't make you any less of a person. That we're all human and it's ok to embrace it.

How bad could it be to enlist your female best friend into helping you lie to your Christian family about your new relationship with your male best friend and about your newfound sexuality? Not that bad, right? Right??? --------- Nova Queen and Arizona "Ari" Matthews weren't always close in high school, but after an intense and serious conversation in the library one day, the two become the best of friends until they go their separate ways their freshman year of college. Now in their mid 20s and freshly out of grad school, they are reunited in the park of their hometown where Ari asks a huge favor of Nova that she later wishes she had refused. But in the end, will she really wish she had refused? *FA spans a timeline from 2010-2020 to help the reader see how the relationships were built between characters in a partial series of flashbacks. It also helps the reader to really see into the minds of Arizona and Nova as they age, and the effect different life events have on them. Personally, I never saw myself as an optimistic person. I never really had any friends, I didn't share feelings for people, I never really had any social life whatsoever. My life was always boring. Especially when I was younger. My parents were sucked up alcoholics, we never had the money to do anything due to my mom quitting her job and my dad being a selfish prick.
