This is some of that advice I give them. Keep in mind most of this is my opinion in addition to things other people have taught me to do and not to do. It is by no means 100% to be followed but only a guide to get you thinking. The beauty of writing is that there is no one correct answer. We each learn and adapt to our own personal styles.

But I've got some experience around what can catch an agent, editor, or judge's eye, and I'd like to share that with the community. ☙ - In another lifetime, I used to work for HBO in Development and at ICM (the talent agency) in their writers' department which means I understand how professionals quickly gauge whether or not they'll take a closer look at a work and/or make an offer. However when you read them.. Well they all seem to be the same. There may be a reason for that, those books preach the important points however I am here to maybe give you some tips you've never heard before. I can make no promises to give original ideas, I haven't read every 'How to get more reads..' book on Wattpad.
