Alex is not your typical 16 year old. she stays at home all day, doesn't go to school, doesn't have a phone, and has no friends. But its not because she chose not to, its because her parents don't give her any other choices.
Her whole life, Alex has been abused and forced into taking care of herself as well as her little sister, Jadya who is 6.
When Alex finally puts her foot down she decides to run away with her sister, using the last bit of her money for a train ticket to New York City, where she ran into a boy named Jake (17).
Does Jake feel sincerely bad for Alex and Jadya? Or does he just lead them straight into their worst nightmare?
