When petals fall off a rose so does the tears of a small child that watches the beautiful flower die. When it is someone's birthday, people celebrate them with love and gifts. When a baby is born into a family, they are celebrated, held, hugged, and loved. But that's all lies.
Not every petal on a rose is cherished.
Not every birthday is celebrated.
Not every baby is loved.
People sometimes have to dip their toes into reality like it's the lake they are sitting by. People will live a life in the rose field, or they will live a life constantly trying to escape that so very dark maze. Monsters chase you in that maze, and you never know when they are coming.
In the rose field, you sit with the people who truly do love and care about you. Those people hold your hand and hug you, they love you.
Poor Mary Bee, she never got to visit the rose field. She has always been in the maze, followed by the monsters. The one she feared but loved the most, was a certain pink skinned one.
Mary Bee, a physical abuse survivor, a mental abuse survivor, but not a survivor.

Water is quite interesting, isn't it?

Have you ever met someone who alters the course of your life? For good or for bad, they've come in, given and taken, and then- BOOM! Your life was never the same. There's always a change, an altering of reality. When you meet those people, the reality that you've known your whole life is suddenly gone and a new one has taken its place. When those moments happen, there's no going back. You can try to return to the way things were but nothing, and I mean nothing, can take you back to exactly how it was. That's what happened to us. I think that's why we're still trying so desperately to get back to some sort of normalcy. Four years later and we're still on the ground, crawling, in search of the happiness that was lost that June. Summers will never be the same. Midnight walks through my neighborhood will never be the same. Field parties with bonfires and loud music will never be the same. I still don't know why you left and what lead you to the decision you made. What I do know is that we're here. We're alive and we're pushing forward to the future. A future that you're not a part of. But in some ways, I'm glad you're not a part of it. I just wish it wasn't like this. *** TRIGGER WARNING*** SA, abuse, suicide, substance abuse, and mental illness. This is a complete story that is much like life; fast, full of surprises, and not always how we want it to be. This has been a project of mine for over three years. It was self-published on Amazon, but after some issues in publication, I decided to just upload it on here. I hope you fall in love with these characters like I have. The friends in this story are trying to make names for themselves, figure out who they are, who they can trust, how to love, and how to separate themselves from a restrictive community. As in any coming of age story, they will experience growing pains... but will they survive them before its too late? PLEASE READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS.

I gasped for breath as I jolted and sat up in bed. My t-shirt was drenched with sweat. I wiped the back of my hand against my forehead as I checked the table clock. 4:30 am, it read. I buried my head in my hands as tears rolled down my cheeks. I couldn't live this failure of a life any more. It had to end.. On the outside, Melissa Crawford looked like everyone else, an absolutely normal girl. But was she? Having lost her father in a car accident, with a below average performance at school and having just given away her own baby at the age of 16, she surely wasn't okay. The demons of depression ate away at her soul, day and night. Living like a robot, she felt trapped inside her own body. Her mind controlled her. She struggled to find a way out. But was she successful? Did she manage to escape in time? This is the story of a girl, depressed and in the dire need of help. Can she escape the tricks her own mind is playing on her? Can she save herself? Or will she give up? Read on to know more. NOTE: if anyone is suffering from problems similar to the protagonist of this story, please do talk to someone about it who will be there for you through thick and thin. Though this story might in a way help you find your way too, I strongly suggest you seek medical help if you or anyone you know shows suicidal tendencies. I just need all of you to know that everyone is special in their own way. Love yourself. Love your surroundings. There is so much to look forward to in life. Be happy :-) Highest rank: #269 in short story

"I wasn't your daughter when you were drunk, right? Or when you were smoking, or doing crack, or had some guy around? I wasn't your daughter then. No! I was always just a random girl to you!" Daisy McCharty has had an interesting life. Yet she is just as sane as the person next to her. As long as she has good people around her and love in her heart everything will work out fine. But sometimes when these two worlds mix it is one hell of a ride. ⚠️ Trigger Warning⚠️ Contains sexual and physical abuse, substance abuse, teenage substance and drinking abuse, smoking, slight intimate moments, violence, blood, and death.
