Jake Sanders, a person totally irrelevant to the plot of this story, had a rare cancer. No other living being harnessed the disease, and he killed himself in the basement of his house because of it. His parents fled the house, not wanting to face the truth of their son's depression. They did not alert the police or the paramedics about their son, and Jake's corpse hung in the same exact spot for almost a decade. In the very spot of his death, was the beginning of a new challenge for humanity to face, for years to come.

Lila Byrne, Ella Revel, Stephen Hollick, and Jenessa Lorano on the other hand, are very important. Their story is just starting, beginning on one awful mistake of a day, in the house of Jake Sander's.

25 parts Complete Mature
Grace was the quintessential sheltered girl. Her parents had gone through hell to have her and in a sad twist, instead of letting her enjoy the life they'd finally (finally!!) given her, they'd made her afraid to actually live it. And that helicopter style of parenting had emboldened her parents enough to believe their input in every decision making was not only important, but essential. Her life was mapped and planned to the last minute by her overbearing mother. Her future, in her mother's plans, was already set, regardless of Grace's thoughts on the matter. Her only solace, throughout her life were her best friends Liz and Ben. Liz was a similar story in the sense that her parents were strict, but for different reasons. Her older sister was a walking talking afterschool special, and because of this, her parent's default parenting setting was untrusting. And Ben, even though he came from a more laid back household, with a single mother and a lot of rambunctious brothers, he had been in all her classes and there wasn't much Grace's parents could do to keep them from bonding during school projects. But sadly Ben had passed away in a car accident fall of Junior year. So, essentially, Grace was a boiling pot waiting to be pushed. Jack has always known he liked Grace, his twin brother's best friend, but he never dared to act on it. She was shy, and only ever truly came out of her shell around Ben, Jack's twin. When tragedy strikes and Ben dies, everything changes, and Jack finds himself drawn to Grace in ways he never expected. But just when their connection begins to grow, another tragedy tears them apart, leaving Jack broken and Grace on a journey of personal growth. Years later, fate brings them together again. Can they rebuild what was lost, or is the past too heavy to overcome? A powerful story of love, loss, and the paths that lead us back to each other when we least expect it.

It's been five years since the plague struck. Leah knows there are other survivors, but she's avoiding them. She is doing just fine on her own. Surviving after everyone she knew died has made her physically strong and honed her intelligence, but she is emotionally devastated. There is nothing to fear if you don't make yourself emotionally vulnerable. James has spent the last five years helping to build up a colony of survivors. He believes in the small town they have populated and its mission to save humanity from extinction. He and his small team of men find scattered people and bring them in. Over the last two centuries, women have fought for and won more and more rights, gaining equality with men. Society, law, and technology bolsters and enforces these rights, but now they are gone. Women's equality with men is over. There are just too few of them. They aren't lesser but greater, more important, more valuable than men. Men are expendable. Men can stay outside alone if they like, but all women must be brought inside the safety of the Colony and properly taken care of. James has been searching the area Leah lives in. Her time of solitude is up. Leah sparks something in James he's never felt before. He's not letting this one get away, certainly not twice. Warning: Contains sex, some violence, occasional foul language, and adult issues. Genre: Science Fiction, Romance, Post-apocalyptic, Dark romance Length: 84,468 words This book has been published on Amazon. If Winter Harper thought life at her new boarding school was going to be easy, she was dead wrong. Everyone at ZBS-Academy has the same mysterious virus---one that's slowly turning everyone into terrifying flesh eating monsters, also known as zombies. The teachers are lifeless, and the food stinks. Literally. And worst of all, the clique of popular mean girls who rule the school have already decided that she's dead to them. All Winter wants is to go back to her old school, and be with her old friends. But until a cure is found, Winter is stuck at ZBS-Academy forever ... How will she survive? - - - - - - - - - - As if he knew what I was thinking, Jesse leaned over and whispered, "Transformation happens very, very slowly." He said. "It takes centuries to become a full zombie." I guess that was supposed to make me feel better, but it didn't. "Centuries?" I gasped. "You're immortal now," he told me. "Didn't anyone tell you that?" I thought back to the things that I knew about zombies. I didn't recall Danny saying that I'd live forever. It wasn't on the websites I looked at either. Would I be fifteen years old from now on? With no real friends at my new school? That didn't sound so good ..
