"Linh!... Linh! LINH!"
Linh's eyes slowly opened as she looked absentmindedly, blinking at the dark room around her, confused. She'd begun to wonder if it was just a nightmare before the voice called out again, having Linh throwing off her blanket without a second thought as she raced towards her bedroom door.
"LINH!" She heard Tam's voice scream from the floor above her.
The girl ran out of her bedroom through the dimly lit hallway. "Tiergan!"
"LINH!" Tam's screaming only grew more frantic.
"I'm coming!" Linh yelled out, sprinting up the staircase by twos.
The house was a blur around her, her feet and hands on autopilot, doing things before she could tell them what to do and she burst through Tam's door, immediately racing towards him only to find her brother bent over, his hands gripping his shins.
"Linh, it hurts." He cried. In all the time Linh had spent with him, she'd never really seen him cry. Sure, she'd see a tear or two from time to time, but it was always as if whatever things triggered any sort of waterworks from the Shade, he was immune to.
"Oh no." Linh found herself mumbling before racing back towards Tam's door to yell for Tiergan again.
"What is it?" Wylie's voiced yelled back, followed by the sounds of multiple people running. One of them was headed up the stairs and the other sounded like they were just running down the hallway.
Tiergan was the first to reach Tam's room. He followed Linh back to the bed where Tam was still bent over, though by that time he was rocking back and fourth as an attempt to calm whatever was wrong.
"Linh, Linh, it hurts! Linh..." Tam sobbed. Linh moved her eyes downwards a bit to see him digging his fingers into his legs.
"We need to take him to Elwin. Now." Wylie said.
