Carson and I stood there, swaying simply back and forth. The music ceased for a moment but we were still determined to hold each other. Stay in this moment for as long as we could. I couldn't bring myself to let go.
I felt Carson lift my chin up delicately with his hand, tears stinging in my eyes. His gaze met mine and the most beautiful smile danced onto his face, tucking a stray hair behind my ear. He cupped my face with his hand and I leaned into him, a tear escaping my eyes. He was so... everything. I needed this boy too much.
"You..." he said gently, rubbing my cheek with his thumb. "You're mine. All fucking mine."
"Forever?" I whispered as he held me closer to him.
Carson stopped swaying and placed his hands firmly on the small of my back, bringing me closer. He then grabbed my face with both of his hands and pressed his forehead to mine, our lips almost touching.
"Forever," he whispered back. And before I could respond, his mouth crashed into mine; and at that moment I knew that he had meant it.
