Katherine Hamilton is your average 16-year-old teenager: average grades, listens to her music more than her parents, has celebrity crushes and wants to make a name for herself in the world. She gets a wake-up call when her mom sends her to live with her unusual cousins that she hasn't seen since they were children. Strange, foreign and dysfunctional, her cousins are a far cry from the normality Katherine has experienced all her life. But things really get out of hand when her aunt drops them off at a lazer tag zone. From the moment they step foot in the arena, Katherine can tell something's different. This lazer tag is deadly. This lazer tag tests you. This lazer tag turns you into a monster. Now, she and 39 other kids are in a deadly race to the death, all of them armed, all of them scared, all of them with the potential and terror to become killers.

"My name is Katrina, call me Kat." Kat is a 16 year old 'It is what it is.' kind of girl, she has a lovely boyfriend, Daniel. She also has a few friends; Adelaide, Sammy, Ethan, & Christian. She has a few enemies; Grace & her plastic posse. She's the average teen, and her life SEEMS pretty normal, except she's in foster care because her parents were brutally murdered a year ago. They never found any traces of the murderer. Kat has glitches here and there; seeing, hearing, and feeling things that are not there. She also has black outs, and dreams about strange things. Sometimes she even thinks she was the one who murdered her own parents. When she returns to San Diego to visit her siblings, her life turns into a rollercoaster. Bouncing between her boyfriend and her ex-love, her parents death, and figuring out the difference between friends and enemies, her life becomes pretty hectic.
