I'm walking down the street, my sneakers hitting the pavement. The sound is like music. Thump. Thump. Thump. The wind is softly blowing my black hair in my face. I push the strands back where it belongs and continue walking, the music continuing. My skin is probably getting tanner by the second. It's just a typical summer day. The sun is shinning, warming my face. I smile thinking of all the times I've walked down this sidewalk, going to his house, opening his door and calling out for him.

Have you ever been in love or had a crush on your best friend? Yeah well this story isn't like the others.

Ashlyn Cole and Casper Albright have known each other since kindergarden. They've grown up together, laughed together and even ate grass together ( It was only one time). When Casper says he has big news to tell her she gets excited. Questions whirl trough her head and she wonders if he finally likes her back. She's liked him since sixth grade. So did he finally get the hint? Will she end heart broken or will things go her way?

I stop at the door taking another huge breath and walk in. I go up to the desk and wait for the lady to get off the phone which standing here is making me even more nervous She puts the phone down and finally speaks "Yes, how may I help you." how cliché "I have an appointment here for result, I am Keegan Summers." I say she looks up with wide eyes at me, her face pales and she gulps. What?! "The doctor will see you right away!" she says urgently, and buzzes the door open. "go straight down the hall into the last door on the left." she says smiling. "Thank you." I say shaky and even more scared than before. Oh no, even the front counter lady knows about me which makes it even worse. I walk down the hall slowly savoring the moment. I get to the door and breathe. Then I walk in. I see my doctor sitting at her desk doing some paperwork and I shut the door and she looks up and frowns at me. "Keegan sit down please." she says lowly not even looking me in the face. "No I won't, I came all the way here just to find out. I have been sick way to long and I just wannt to know. Just say it, spit it out right now because I am panicking. What's wrong with me?" I say demandingly. "Keegan, it's as simple as this, your dying." I freeze. Everything freezes. Did she just say what I think she said? Seventeen year old Casper Reynolds and his goofy laidback best friend Eric live and breathe surfing. Living in a busy tourist town in California right on the coast makes for a pretty crowded city, especially in the summer. Casper's parents just so happen to own one of the most sought out hotels in the city. So when they end up short-handed during the busiest time of year they ask Casper to help out. Instead of getting to surf from sunrise to sunset, instead of being able to check out the 'hot babes' as Eric would say, and instead of having the summer of a lifetime he gets stuck with a summer job. It doesn't help one bit when a mysterious grudge-holding girl ends up staying at the hotel Casper's working at. After a chance encounter that goes horribly wrong the girl obviously has it out for Casper. If personalities could be graded like school work Casper would be a solid C. He's average. He's not memorable or extraordinary or even remarkable. The mystery girl however would be an F as in a failure of a human being. She's mean, cruel, and simply unbearable. So what happens when Casper finds out the girl has secret? Maybe...just maybe he'll realize there's more to her than a rude, crude exterior. With couple heated arguments, sarcastic comments, and a little blackmail anything is possible. *Warning* ~This is my first book on Wattpad so, read at your own risk. It gets better as it goes along though. Enjoy! xx~ ___________________________________________ Hey!! Thanks for clicking on my story (hopefully it wasn't accidental haha). Anyways just a few disclaimers. 1. The original picture for the cover was off WeHearit and after a little picmonkey.com magic it turned into that. So yeah. 2. This isn't really a diclaimer but, whatever: Plagerism is a crime and it's just plain rude. All epilogues, prologues, chapters, and characters belong to me. They're MINE. Understood? Okay good. 3. This story wouldn't exist without Sammmy134's amazing idea so thank you so much!!

Lauren Jules, her twin sister Miranda, and their best friend Jake all grew up together in their own little world. Just three kids having the time of their lives. And then came the summer that changed everything. It was the summer Lauren fell in love with her best friend. It was the summer her family broke apart and she grew up. It was the summer Jake left. Now five years later, Jake is moving back and Lauren is determined to keep her guard up against the boy who stole her heart years ago. But Lauren's not the only one with something to hide, Jake seems to be fighting some demons of his own. His past has changed him from the happy-go-lucky kid he was, to a reckless guy with a smirk for a smile. And he's driving Lauren insane. ****** Excerpt from That Summer "Well I'm surprised," he drawled huskily, playing with a strand of my hair. "You acted like a natural last night." Oh. My. God. What did that even mean? He chuckled at my deer-in-headlights expression. There was no way I would not remember losing my virginity to Jake. Hell, I'd memorize every second of it. "What do you mean?" I asked slowly, my stomach doing somersaults. Please tell me I'm jumping to the wrong conclusion. Pretty please. "Well," he started, a gleam in his eyes. "First, you grabbed the blanket and ripped it right off of me." I blinked at him, a horrified expression on my face. I slapped his hand away from my hair and turned around. Yup, there it was. Lying on the floor, along with my dignity. He continued solemnly. "And then, you climbed up on top of me." Could you die from your face overheating? I waited for my embarrassment to be complete as he tapped his chin, thoughtfully. "Yeah, that's about it." That's it? THAT'S IT? So I hadn't completely thrown myself at him. Just a tad. And the prize for the unluckiest luckiest horndog of the year goes to Lauren Can't Keep Her Hands To Herself Jules. I grabbed the pillow and smacked him over the head with it. Hard.

Wattpad Creator! Happy and proud. HIM: Staying the night? Not my thing. Hearts and flowers? Boring. Falling in love? Not anytime soon. Settling down? Off the table. Getting married? You're kidding me, right? That was me before the night we first met. Because, well, meeting a hot chick that made me hard just by looking at her was definitely not in my plans when I sneaked out of a woman's apartment after what was already a long night. Taking her home and getting her a chocolate cake, though, was kind of intentional. But falling for her? Boy, that was pretty much inevitable. HER: He came out of nowhere, literally. I was there, sitting on that bench, barefoot and crying and just getting my heart broken in peace and silence. Then he appeared, all mad and furious and sexy and tall and just drool-worthy! And just like that, despite my poor attempts of escaping him, he had me wrapped in his world. A crazy yet heart-fluttering world, that I have absolutely no intentions of leaving anytime soon. ------- Character development is a main theme in this book. It shows you how they both work on changing for the better, while trying to overcome the obstacles in their relationship and fight for each other till the end. ** Warning!! So many thoughts were running through my mind as Liam and I stood there, face-to-face, ready to do something that could escalate my like for him or even change his perspective of me in a good or bad way. But, why was I so curious about kissing him? Part of me did want to know what it'd feel like, the other part reminded me that this was my first outside a relationship, and we couldn't count his. He sure was really experienced. In the midst of my thoughts, I felt Liam soft hand caress my cheek. My heart pounded in my chest, as he tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear. His eyes were burning into mine, and I felt his hands travel down my back and around my waist. I felt breathless already. He gently pulled me in close to him, so close that I could feel his heart-beat against mine. An audible gulp escaped me, making him smile. A real one. I could feel the warmth in his voice as he whispered " Don't be scared, I'm not that horrible. " At that moment, I just trusted him. I nodded my head, as he tilted his and slowly leaned in. A wave of heat flooded my entire body as Liam drew me closer and closer, firmly sealing the gap between us. Oh God. This is it. Skylar tries to make the best out of the fact that she was getting married in a year to a perfect stranger, but he's antipathetic, reluctant-the list goes on, and she gets broken countless times.
