Loralei Alarie hasn't felt the warmth of a mother's hug or the reassurance of a father's words in all her 17 years living. Every birthday, every injury and every game regarded as waste. The only attention she is allowed from her parents are when she is given corrections for her mistakes and the constant reassurance that she is unloved. Which she knows is a somewhat fibbed statement seeing as how her older sister Camille is her best friend who tells her the exact opposite.

Loralei's mind had her questioning how she had been so lucky to be related to someone as beautiful and perfect as her sibling. On some rare occasions she had even gone as far as to beg and plead her sister to teach her on how she does it. How she manages to get them to love her. All lessons fell short though, resulting in harsh words and lessons.
Loralei is drowning in her own mind, lost in a trench of dispair and emptiness, but everything changes when a certain somebody moves in next door. A certain somebody that is fixed on rescuing Loralei. The question is though, will he able to save her in time?
