Wared Ra'Han, a young man in his late teens, finds his world turned upside down when his uncle unexpectedly survives a sacred ritual that every citizen must participate in. Shunned by his future fiancée and under the microscope by those around him, he turns his anger towards the source of his pain, his uncle Tarun. When he learns that Tarun harbors secrets that endangers not just them but their society as a whole, he is forced to pursue the answer to a question no-one is asking: what exactly is the purpose of the Departure Protocol and why did Tarun survive? What happened to all those that went before him and what secrets is the Protectorate really keeping from everyone? Wared's own future and that of their whole outpost hangs in the balance.

A small group of people journeyed from Earth to the planet Terith hoping for a more peaceful life. No one foresaw the divisions that would manifest between those who wanted to encourage growth and prosperity for all and those who wanted Terith only for personal gain. SWARM arose like a snake under a rock, devastating us in the course of a few hours. I was caught in the middle, determined to stop them from ruining the only home I've ever known. I knew I couldn't take the might of SWARM on my own, so I recruited my friends to help me. Given aid by them, along with the Varius, a special gift from my father, we were willing to do just about anything to end SWARM. But before I seem like a hero, it might be worth mentioning that this all started because of a girl - I was only human, after all. She was everything I didn't know I needed. I don't regret that it started this way, but I will forever regret what this fight cost me. She helped me realize that a good portion of the evil I was fighting...was hiding in my own heart.

When one of those pilots goes on a murderous rampage, it's set to be decommissioned by the Magnus-Barlowe corporation. Unfortunately, this AI is self-aware, and the engineer is an idiot. A scientist staging a prison break steals both a ship and the android to be its pilot, hoping to escape the claws of capitalism. An opportunity to do just that is presented when the mismatched crew is presented with a task: rescue the kidnapped daughter of a black-market salesman and be granted safe passage to a planet without a single MBC colony to bother them. Even though making deals with thieves is generally regarded as a bad idea, there doesn't really seem to be a choice for these wayward souls. With a crew made up of human and synthetic criminals, getting one measly kid from a space station full of scientists can't be too hard. Right?

You know how you trauma-dump on your friends and they say, "Omg, that's insane, you should write a book about it!" Well, more people have made that remark to my mother as she exaggerates all her stories, so I took the liberty of taking that advice for myself. I am a writer, after all, and I tend to write out my feelings and trauma to work through it on my own, just to delete it later. But why not make some of those memories that haunt me so much into story form? It's definitely more entertaining. So, you'll find my entire life story, or at least what I remember, here in this book on Wattpad. Each chapter is a real event that occurred in my life, mostly involving my emotionally abusive mother, nearly absent and aggressive father, my runaway older sister, and even a little boy we fostered for a moment.
