Mia Kent is a resilient girl dealing with toxic family dynamics while living the hectic Mexico City. She is born into an abusive family. Her mother, Helga, has borderline crises that change Mia's life utterly and without warning. These episodes come as messy divorces, new boyfriends, new zip codes, degrees, money scandals or mental breakdowns. She grows up thinking manipulation, violence, absence, blackmail, passive aggression, and an ignorant bliss are the secrets to a good life. When Helga goes M-I-A, Mia is left to deal with loneliness in an on and off living alone situation since she is 13. Pulling off a master plan to avoid anyone finding out about her situation.
Mia eventually finds herself at a crossroads where she will have to decide what voice to believe, the one that keeps her thinking she is destined to be that which she fears she will never get out of, or the one that keeps her having faith about her being so much more.

[Book 1 of the Mia Series] This story is about Mia and the struggles she deals with throughout her senior year in high school. Unfortunately, she has had no choice but to survive many obstacles in her life up to this point. Mia's biological parents rejected her at an early age, leading to her getting adopted by parents who alienate her. She gets continuously bullied and has a lot of inner battles within herself. As time passed, she found a best friend to help her overcome it all. In the end, this is about how one girl endeavors her way through life and, ultimately, graduation. A/N: Hello, everyone!
