It was as if the wall talked to him. It spoke of what the incomprehensible words inscribed on it meant. He could not understand the writing. It was as if scratched by a gargantuan animal.

But he knew that it was no simple minded beast. It was patterned. They were words. Whoever wrote this was sentient. But it seemed very ancient. He could not identify it. However, somehow he understood it.
"Battle Cry", he thought, hearing the voices coming from the magical wall. Curiously, he approached the wall. The voices became louder. Magical wards appeared out of nowhere and swirled upon him. It looked like the combination of bright lights and loud noises would climax into a burst of energy. But it did not. It was suddenly over.

"Did you see that? The wall", he asked Acilius, a person he just met.

"See what? You were just staring at the wall, boy", Acilius answered.

He did not expect that answer. It was so loud, and there was even visible, tangible magic. He reflected that he might probably be going insane since he had been dodging traps and solving puzzles for the past few hours. But it was not the case. He knew what he heard and what he saw. Cloud Ruler Temple has its mysteries, and he might have just seen one.

"No matter", he thought. He was there for a mission, not sight seeing. He was looking for someone within the ruins of a dilapidated Blades temple who might alleviate their current misfortunes.

"Sir Acilius", he called the old man, not sure how to address a member of the Blades. Then he proceeded to ask, "would you happen to know where 'Ryushin' is?"

Allen Walker(NOT FROM D-GRAYMAN), a 13 year old boy with a dream to become a warrior, just like his Father Argon Walker. And 4 childhood friends will gather together and reclaim what was once theirs. Wonderful tales about adventures and battles against the Empire of Gallamine... But this was not one of those heroic times. The messenger was a soldier of the King, bearing a Blue cloak with a Gold insignia of the King, The Mighty Blue Dragon, on his hands. Allen's mother covered her face with grief and ran inside the house. Allen wanted to cry, but he kept a brave face. His lower lip wouldn't stop trembling. As he extended his hands for the cloak, the messenger unveiled his hoodie and underneath was his Uncle Waller with tears and red nose. Allen ran and hugged him. Not letting him go, thinking he too would suddenly disappear. "Allen... Please take this inside." Said Waller, "I will come back when we have done the ceremony for his burial." Waller kneeled down with his arms extended, offering Allen his fathers cloak. "But... Uncle Waller. What-" I started crying, but kept a brave face. "I understand Uncle *Sniff* I will be brave for the family and Mom." I took the cloak from his hands, and something clicked inside my head. A voice came through to my head, more a whisper than a normal voice. Uncle Waller stood up and walked away. I embraced the cloak, my tears falling on it, as I remembered my fathers scent. "I don't know what happened... But I promise you this Father, I will find the person who did this to you, and make it pay for taking you away from our family". I swore with anger burning in my heart. "I must grow strong, just like Father, Uncle and Grandpa... I will become The strongest Warrior there ever was, you will see Father..." I walked back inside the house. "Allen... You have promise..." Said the whisper, "I will help you grow strong, and get Revenge..." Said the voice with sadness, "You are a very special Kid".

{2nd Place Winner of the @NarutoWattyAwards ~ Other Category} Midori Nagamori was just like any other villager in the Village Hidden in the Mountains, until her village was attacked by a raging tailed beast. This beast was only heard of in the mountains, for that was where it lay dormant until citizens---shinobis---of the village released it; allowing it to wreak havoc upon their once peaceful home. At the young age of two years old, she was found by a kind, compassionate kunoichi by the name of Aki Yakori; giving the young child refuge from her past. She didn't have a tough life like most others who were left without a clan, because she never quite knew of a home outside of Aki's. Living on the edge of the Land of Fire and the Land of Wind, the young girl had always been told of legends and stories of such a title known as "ninja" and wished to be called such; her dream came true when she left off into the direction of Konohagakure no Sato. Now a citizen of the Village Hidden in the Leaves, she starts her journey on the way of shinobi. But this young girl has secrets; some dangerous, some helpful. Will she be able to restrain her anger once the many truths come to light about her past or will she fall into the abyss that confines her inner beast? Follow our young heroine on her journey to finding the truth of herself and honing her ninja abilities in this action packed, heart-wrenching tale of love, betrayal and adventure! (NOTE: I have yet to edit this story, so bear with its brash, wretched grammar and flow. IT IS ALSO ALTERNATE UNIVERSE, but only with some things.) Written by: Yours truly and MethodOfInsanity

"Who's out there?" One of the men yelled. Of course only silence met them. I remained quiet and waited for the group to start moving again. "Maybe it was just an animal." Someone whispered. The person, who I assumed was the captain of the small squad, signaled for them to walk again. They clearly showed fear as they kept going; brandishing their weapons to guard themselves with. "Two are holding lanterns. I'll tell you when you're too close to them." I heard my friend whisper in my ear. I followed the men as I picked up another branch and waited for the right time to break it. They continued to walk through the forest, turning their heads in every direction as if an animal might lunge at them and rip their throats out. I guess in a way I was going to do that. "Go back a few feet." My friend whispered. I carefully distanced myself from the group and waited. "Where is she?" I quickly snapped the stick as soon as he finished asking the question. They stopped and two soldiers raised their lanterns to shine its light in the darkness. I quickly hid behind a tree before both of them turned where I was. A low frustrated growl came from one of the men, "The girl's playing with us. She's out here following our every move." How paranoia can cloud the mind. At nine years old, Silver decided to leave her village for the forest. Since then, she's been hunted; everyday is a fight for her life, every breath she takes could be her last, but she's determined to stay alive. Her life isn't the kind anyone would want to live but she's managed to survive this long so, what's a few more years?

"Hold me close, don't let go, watch me burn...In this Hospital for Souls." "...the one thing that is absolutely awful about being a reaper is the eyesight problems that come with it, he has decided. Even now, in the sunlight (the accursed sunlight, almost burning through his excuse for a skin), holding the stupid list two inches from his damn face, he is still having difficulty reading the names. "Jarrod Fineman," he murmurs aloud, still squinting at the paper. "Aged twenty five. Died on the 12th of March, 1894; cause of death... butter knife to the heart." His nose wrinkles as he connects the dots; the butter knife with the butler, the butler with the demon, the demon with the earl. It was evident - a business deal gone wrong, which had resulted in Jarrod's rather ignorant move to attempt to shoot Ciel Phantomive. The demon had moved without hesitation; the reaper had watched as he tore the man's throat open, while at the same time skewering him in the chest. Phantomhive looked on, completely unfazed, as the crimson blood pooled on the floor of the magnificent palace that he liked to call a mansion. Afterwards, he cleared his throat, and said to the butler: 'Clean it up. I have other business to attend to." Sebastian Michaelis had bowed dutifully at the waist, his demeanor totally serious. "Yes, my Lord." He had watched as Michaelis so very carefully mopped the floor, almost as if he were in cheerful ignorance about the corpse in front of him. He could not have known about the reaper in the room with him already, with his own strict expression, his wicked scythe in the form of a heavy axe. Watching him, ever moment that had unfolded, whilst judging the dead man secretly. He had already sent him to Hell..."
