Tower of God - To Climb the Tower - Second Floor
8,000 years before the Twenty-Fifth Bam entered the Tower, it was like a different place, yet also the same. It is currently in the middle of the reign of Lord Joochun, and the Jahad Empire is solidifying its hold over the Tower as part of his progressive and more proactive policies. Yet, at the same time, unrest is bound to happen in the Tower's political environment as a result. Whether it be within the Imperial political system, or from its enemy from the outside, FUG. And naturally, as part of this system, Regulars are bound to be affected by this turbulent time period in the Tower. From all over the 134 Floors in the Tower, residents are selected by Headon to become Chosen Regulars. All wish to fulfill their desires. Some political, some not. Some good, some evil, and some neither. And finally, some selfish, and some not. But all Regulars have to start somewhere... The Second Floor of the Tower. The bulwark to see who is worthy and who is not, failure to pass it is unacceptable. You must be strong, clever, or at the very least, be lucky enough to pass. And yet, perhaps this new batch of Regulars may carry several individuals capable of shaking the Tower in some way or another. The First Arc of To Climb the Tower, a story made of a cast of Original Characters, separate from the canon of Tower of God.

The Breakup

It's set in the Tower but I can't remember how things went so just take this as canon divergence - I've messed with timings. This takes place before the hell train, before Bam meets Rachel again but after being rescued from Fug. Years have passed since Bam was reunited with his friends. I stood tall, lifting my chin to meet his gaze. He sat upon the golden throne, and I remained below. Was I afraid? I couldn't say for certain. He was my comrade, someone I would have died for, someone I had followed without hesitation. And yet... "I didn't hear you." His voice was deceptively soft, still carrying that familiar warmth, but beneath it lay something heavier. Yet despite the sadness in his eyes, his tone sent a chill through my bones. "With all due respect... you are still my friend." His fingers tightened imperceptibly on the armrests. "And what do you mean by that?" "I promised to help you become the King." My voice didn't waver. "But I never swore allegiance to you... Zahard." Silence. The air grew thick, the weight of my defiance pressing between us like an unsheathed blade. I knew the cost of those words, yet I refused to kneel - not before the throne, not before him. His eyes narrowed, lips curled into something between pity and cold amusement. He gazed down at me like I was an ant. "I see..." _______________ This story is about a girl named Midnight. Left alone, she walked around the floors of the Tower, not suspecting what adventures and acquaintances awaited her. How will relationships with new companions develop? What secrets will have to be solved in order to climb higher? And who will be able to melt her icy heart and principles? _______________ This story based on Tower of God, that belongs to SIU.
