"You're the color to my black and white world" has become literal in a future, dystopian society. Scientists have found a way to make people unable to see color until they meet their true soulmate. They felt as that not being able to see color would stop civil unrest and discriminatory barriers, and by the time they met their soulmate people would be mature enough to make proper societal decisions. When they're mad, it turns a mix of deep red and orange, when they are embarrassed it changes to a bright yellow, when they are upset it turns blue, when they are feeling lonely it turns purple and so on. The only time the tattoo will light up and turn white is when the person and their soulmate are in a thirty foot radius and when you lock eyes with your soulmate, it begins to heat up.
