*this book is unedited, as well as a work of fiction* To the public, the Survey Corps are the most elite branch of the military, but that's not true. The Phoenix Squadron is a secret operations team with just as much, if not more, skill as the Survey Corps. The lone unit is merely legend to some people, but others believe in its existence. Lux Elton is second in command of this unit right below Commander Perry. Over the past nine years she's racked up a total of 27 kills alone, and is considered by her squad to be the best fighter to have ever walked outside of the walls. After a Survey Corps mission goes terribly wrong, Chief Military Officer Darius Zackly orders the Phoenix Squadron to work with the Survey Corps until they've recovered. The normally calm and collected captain must learn how to control her anger towards a particularly irritating Corporal if she's ever going to survive. These feelings of annoyance won't last forever though, and soon turn into something even harder to control. Lux will have to make it through the hellfire of war, but can she do it alone?
