   Her blood ran cold as she realized she wasn't alone. She looked up and through the reflection, she saw the source of her suffering, the bane of her existence.

   Her mentor.

   "Yes. I am. I quit." She said each word slowly, venomously.

   The other woman laughed as she took another long hit from her pipe. "You can't quit. None of us can."

   The Hundred Year War is over, but peace continues to elude them. Many trials still await them, and the crossroads of destiny is at the horizon. And as Chiyo stands at the edge of the precipice, she must make the choice that will decide their future forever. Will she take the leap, or will she keep straight and true to her path?

   I do not own any of the characters except for the OCs I've introduced. Any historical details I impart on this story is not entirely accurate and based only on my limited knowledge of the subject. This is the second book in the trilogy, the sequel to The Concubine's Apprentice.  Expect more mature themes in this book compared to the first, reader's discretion is advised.

Kiyan never expected to be the Avatar. And now that she is, she's finding she never even wanted to be. She's used to her old life as a simple waterbender, with no great spiritual burdens or destinies or whatever nonsense this Avatar business has suddenly forced on her. Now, she's constantly on the run from the crazy lunatics who murdered the last two Avatars, and who've made it their mission to end the Cycle entirely. In an attempt to finally get her out of their reach, her protectors decide that a time machine is the way to go, and send her back to 130AG, to Republic City to seek mentoring from Avatar Aang himself. There's just one tiny problem. She's thirty years off target. Kiyan decides to wait out the end of the Hundred Years War in a little Earth Kingdom village with the family who's been kind enough to take her in. After all, she's safe there, and she never asked for this whole Avatar deal anyway. Unfortunately, fate has other plans, and her masterful strategy for avoiding danger is thrown into chaos with the arrival of a familiar scarred swordsman. Raised in Earth (OC x Zuko) book 2 by caramel-rage

alrighty, I am really excited for this one! It is the second in the series and follows Book Two: Earth in Avatar: the Last Airbender. I will give a chapter every time the previous one gets ten reads, at least until they exceed that amount. No one has gotten over the mysterious death of Madelyn, least of all Zuko. Since the incident at the North Pole, he has become a traitor to the Fire Nation and has left his Uncle so he can try and find his own path in life. The Gaang has tried to keep their promise and carry on to help Aang with his journey, but something always seems to be missing from their lives. Zuko eventually travels to a small Earth Kingdom village and meets a mysterious girl with a familiar face. They adventure together and try to help her solve her problems with her past and find solutions to Zuko's future. Disclaimer: Unfortunately, I don't own the Avatar series nor do I own anything I reference unless specifically labeled as such. In the beginning, Makki couldn't believe Zuko's change, but he promised himself that he would make it up to her and prove to her that he's truly changed and that he loves her.
