Beyond The Woods

Celeste North feels like she's drowning. The water is closing in on her, immobilizing her limbs, flooding her ears, and constricting her breathing. And every time she tries to go up for air, she gets pulled deeper. Deeper and deeper until she's left in a state of emotionless indifference where she can't tell the difference of friend and foe.

After the Rogue attack, eighteen-year-old Celeste was left feeling empty and numb. Sure, she tries her best to forget, but she feels like she's just going through the motions. Her father calls a meeting, claiming to want to avoid the events of past. But Celeste knows well that his own interests are far closer to the surface than anyone knows.

As the packs start arriving, the already tight leash her father has on her becomes taunt, and as tensions rise, old feelings and unfinished business come back to haunt her. Desperately trying to keep her head above the water, Celeste knows that one day she's going to have choose between her family and her pack, and it seems like that day is coming much too quickly.
