Orphaned at a young age, Emily has been moved from foster home to foster home. Now 17, she is living with the Petersons, a seemingly wonderful wealthy family. They aren't everthing they seem to be though and Emily is forced to endure regular abuse. To cope, she resorts to self harm (cutting) and is a loner at school untill the new guy, Tyler befriends her. Tyler seems to be her saving grace with his peppy persona and ever omptimistic attitude, but everyone has problems. Everyone has scars.
