The main character fell for a popular boy in their high school. For multiple months, the main character has been hiding themselves from this boy, Tal, because they've been scared of what Tal may think of them. After a while of waiting and hiding, Tal finally notices the main character and automatically falls in love with them; they had love at first sight. Slowly this major change affected the main character, their everyday life, and experiences they haven't had before. Their friends leave them and the main character is left with Tal and a few of his friends. The main character doesn't notice all of the changes they have had, and is left alone after something big happens to Tal.Complete

That one person who would be my brightness in the dullest of days (trust me, there were a lot) just by gracing me with his presence. The frown that was permanently etched on my face would always seemingly dissipate into the happiness I felt when we'd meet up, running into his arms like he was my safe place. Everyone expected him to have someone, but no one thought it'd be me. No one wanted it to be me. Looking back on it now, it seemed like a typical love story. Him, the kind and gentle-hearted boy and I, the rude and cold-hearted girl. He wasn't kind, he wasn't gentle-hearted because if he was, then he wouldn't have left. Without a word.
